How to switch to a natural deodorant

  1. STOP WEARING ANTIPERSPIRANTS!

Why? The aluminum in antiperspirants can be very detrimental to your health. Studies show that it can possibly lead to cancer. By using antiperspirants regularly, the bacteria on your armpits can become resistant to it, therefore, giving you a more potent body odor.

How? I know not using deodorant all together might seem scary but there are many natural alternatives to get you through the process. Go au naturale when you plan on staying in the house but if you plan on going out, here are some alternatives:

  • Rubbing lemon or lime in your armpit
  • Tea tree oil
  • Baking soda (I don’t recommend because it burned my armpits)

2. Armpit Detox

Make a mask with one tablespoon ACV and bentonite clay. Apply Apple Cider Vinegar and Bentonite Clay mask 15 minutes before showering. Then rinse.

Do this for about 2 weeks to a month: As much as you can bare.

3.  NATURAL DEODORANT

Purchase a deodorant that says ‘no aluminum’

You can apply tea tree oil under the deodorant for added protection.
